PROGRAMME: This programme is of 3 hours duration and goes to air every Wednesday from 9am until noon Australian Eastern time. The programme is repeated twice on the "Midnight to Dawn" show on Thursday morning from just after midnight until 5.30 am. The programme is presented by Russ Boon and Max Hunter, brass musicians from a very young age and still involved in the Banding World. Russ played with Australia's premier Brass Band, the HAWTHORN BAND for over 20 years, and the MOORABBIN BAND as player and President for 4 years. Before this he played with Brass Bands in the UK and New Zealand. He now devotes his time to playing trumpet with the CRANBOURNE LIONS CONCERT BAND and smaller groups. Max also played with the HAWTHORN BAND for over 30 years plus the KEW BAND for a further 17. Max is now the principal trumpet and President of the CRANBOURNE LIONS CONCERT BAND. During their time with the HAWTHORN and KEW BANDS, Russ and Max toured widely in New Zealand, Japan, USA, Canada and the UK, plus touring and contesting throughout Australia. As well as being heard on the FM band on 97.7 fm, the WORLD OF BANDS is streamed on the Internet. Consequently our program now has a world-wide following in many countries and throughout Australia.
